Style of Eye “Grounded”
There's only a few producers that I call genius. Style of Eye is definitely one of them! Holy chihuahuas "Grounded" is bangin, it's funny, it's silly, it's hard, it's tough, it's slippery, it's hard as a rock, it's giggly sexy and it makes me want to dance - a lot. 'Nuff said.

Motor City Drum Ensemble “Raw Cuts #5″
I've been following Inverse Cinematics aka Motor City Drum Ensemble for about 3 years now. Their record "Airways" on Pulver was one of my huge tunes of 2006! I played 2 cuts on that record (Detroit Jazzin - Dublex Inc. Rmx and Airways) each nite I played, pretty much for an entire year. I'm not one to care about anyone's age, but Danilo Plessow (the brains behind Inverse Cinematics) was making trax starting at age 10 and releasing them a few years after that. Check these 2 tunes released on wax in 2006 by Pulver Records, Germany:

From his bio on myspace.com/inversecinematics :
22-year-old Danilo Plessow from Stuttgart is the man behind INVERSE CINEMATICS. The international club music scene cannot be imagined without him. At the age of 10 Danilo began to experiment with electronic music and decided soon to sell his drum kit to buy studio equipment. He completed his first tracks in 1997 - at this point Danilo was just 12 years old. Although the first songs still sounded very technoid, the soul of Afro-American music has already been reminiscent in his early work and keeps influencing his music today.
And his most recent release under the moniker, Motor City Drum Ensemble "Raw Cuts #5" - This track is pure 116 BPM smokin hot funk. It reminds me of being in a sweaty Dallas warehouse in the early morning, goosebumps all over my body from the energy in the buiding.

Matthew Dear & Seth Troxler “Hurt”
I've never quite understood all the hype around Matthew Dear. In my opinion, the San Antonio native generally makes very strange sounding music that I can't imaging playing for the dancefloor (minus a record or two from 2004-2005). That being said, I'm very happy with "Hurt"! My techno buddies have been creating a buzz around Seth Troxler and now I see why so many people are saying "Troxler FTW". This cut is moody, chunky, and has the illest tom's I've heard in years.

Tim Deluxe “Storm In a Teacup”
Tim, you have now made something I really like that doesn't sound like the old Tim Deluxe. Awesome! I am way into blippy techno that bumps and you'll probably agree that this track is blippy, and it bumps. DOH. hahaha. Remember the records Tim used to put out on Chris Simmonds' Cross Section label? The one that really put him on the map was "I Know". BOMB Alert!

Royksopp “Happy Up Here” – Datassette and Breakbot Remixes
It's so rare to find more than 1 great remix of an already great song. Datassette's is my fav, but the Breakbot remix is rad as well. MMMMM, more disco-y, synthy-funk sounding stuff.

MSTRKRFT feat. John Legend “Heartbreaker” – Wolfgang Gartner
Austin's Wolfgang Gartner (aka Joey Youngman) is one of the hottest electronic artists on the planet. Hands down, this guy is making the most bangin electro cuts today and they are completely destroying every dancefloor I play to. I ask myself sometimes, could Wolfgang's sound get any hotter?
